WOW,  I am terrible at this!

I just realized that my blog started & ended in 3 days in 2011.   It was T's first day of first grade & I had wanted so badly to keep up with things as time passes too fast.
So now, it's July, 2013 & I realized she went from 1st grade to 3rd grade...I BLINKED!

I never really understood why people had blogs. The only one I've ever really read was by a mom who wants to punch people in the throat.   I get it now....It's a diary of sorts.  It's really more for yourself than for any one else & good thing for that since my spelling certainly sucks.

Well, lets fast forward almost 2 years.  T is now 8 & going into 3rd grade.  The summer is upon us & we've been keeping busy.
While dads fishing,  mom & T get to play.  It's not always fun & games, but we try.
Tomorrow off to Hurricane Harbor.  This should be interesting taking two 8 year old girls there by myself & seeing that Taylor fights more than not with this girl should make it even more interesting.
It's not even the day of & I am already asking myself  " I wonder if they serve beer there?"

Fabulous First Grade

8-15-11

Today was Taylor's first day in first grade!!!!!

Tom left for Detroit early this morning, but as promised, woke T up to say goodbye just after 6am.
I woke her up with lots of hugs & kisses just before 7am.

She was so excited to start school & I love her teacher Mrs. Rose.
Her request for lunch & snack was a PB & J, as well as Penna Pasta with butter , a cookie, water & juice, blueberries, veggies & cheddar bunnies.  I packed it all & the lunchbox came home almost empty.

In kindergarten, moms & dads could stay at school with their kids until they were ready to leave.
However, in first grade they cut the cord & kick you out on the first day right after prayer!
I was not ready for this & parents were NOT invited back to do the same thing the next day.
SHE THREW US ALL OUT!  ;)  People warned me about this, why I didn't believe it I don't know!

When I got back home, I CRIED...go figure!  What the hell am I gonna do with myself?

After drinking a pot of coffee pacing around the counter,  I did what every mom does who doesn't really have a life.....CLEANED!
Beds made, dishes washed, floors mopped, everything dusted, baseboards washed, laundry done, dogs walked ...All the while thinking COME ON 2:45!!!!!!   Now what?
I know, let's surf the net for healthy eating habits.  Well that took up about ummmmm 25 minutes..... (this coming from the QUEEN of HoHo's & her 32 count box of Reese's )

The next thing I knew it was 1:30...A quick shower & off to pick up T.
I left the house at 2:10, & seeing how we live oh 2 minutes from school I'd be right on time...TO SIT THERE FOR 30 minutes waiting for my kid!
I had to laugh at myself, but was pleased to see another mom sitting on the lawn of the school doing the same as I.

When T got out I was sure she'd be tired & that maybe she had missed me more than she wanted to be in school that day.  Her words when I came to her were " MOM THAT WAS SOOO SHORT, I WANTED TO STAY LONGER"

When we got home she gave me 10 hugs & kisses  & I gave her the same....It's an every day promise we made to each other for after school.  She filled me in on her day & was happy as can be.  She LOVES FIRST GRADE!

On to mommy & T time for about 30 minutes, homework, a ride to the park on her bike.
Dinner, bath , story & bed & now my day was done

When you have kids NEVER BLINK, they grow up too fast!

How many times will the baseboards get cleaned?
I guess we will find out in the days to come!
